Floating Kingdom?
This kingdom isn’t floating high above the clouds, just like what we see in movies, but this is located in Normandy, France. Its base is surrounded by ancient walls and towers, and the village comprises clustered buildings. UNESCO declared it a World Heritage site in 1979.
A causeway connects the land to this island, but before this was built, this scenic spot became hard to reach during high tides. In the eighth century, St. Aubert, bishop of Avranches, had a vision of the archangel St. Michael prompting him to build an oratory on the island of Mont-Saint-Michel, originally called Mont-Tombe.
