Located in the South Caucasus, the Republic of Abkhazia is considered an independent state, although World Atlas says it is a part of Georgia. This small nation actually has a rich but painful past, having centered in the battle against Georgia from 1994 to 2003.
In 2010, the European Court of Human Rights ruled that the Abkhazian authorities had violated the human rights of ethnic Georgians in the region. Because of the displacement, many structures, such as this Gali college, were abandoned. Through time, it harbored and cultivated greenery that made this building look like it came from the movies.
