These Celebrities Served In the Army Before Becoming Famous, Some of Them Were in World War II

When you have ancestors who were military veterans and part of the American Civil War, joining the military almost becomes a duty. Jimmy Stewart went on to become one of the greatest stars in the history of Hollywood. He went on to win an Oscar for The Philadelphia Story. Even before he joined the military, he had a keen interest in aviation and had obtained his pilot’s license. His military career was as impressive as his film career, and he rose to the rank of brigadier general — this put him at the top of the list of actors who had a career in the military as well. He went into a retirement home in the 80s but was actively associated with various events, award ceremonies, and charitable functions. He breathed his last at the age of 89 in 1997.
