These Celebrities Served In the Army Before Becoming Famous, Some of Them Were in World War II

Ted Williams

Boston Red Sox player Ted Williams had a great career in baseball for close to two decades — with a brief hiatus in between. He had served the US Navy and Marine Corps for three years, and he even received the Presidential Medal Of Freedom in 1991. Though initially, he enlisted as Class 1-A, he changed it to Class 3 -A (which is for people with dependents) with the help of an attorney. Even when he was posted in Pearl Harbor, he played in the army league. He died of heart failure in 2002. However, even after his death, there was a lot of drama. Though Ted wanted to be cremated, his son and younger daughter claimed that they had agreed in a family pact to keep their bodies frozen cryonically. Legal procedures followed and lawyers were involved, but, even until now, his body is still in the cryonic facility.
