It was while shooting for the movie Cleopatra in 1962 when Elizabeth Taylor met Richard Burton. Taylor was married to singer Eddie Fisher at that time but started an extra-marital affair with Burton which was confirmed from the various pictures taken by paparazzi, especially the ones where the two were on a yacht. Burton was married as well. The scandal that followed was condemned by the Vatican and the couple was not allowed to enter the country. However, they did take divorce from their respective spouses and finally got married. Together, they were a hot couple both on and off the screen. Their most notable movies are Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, My Cousin Rachel, Hamlet, and many others. They did 11 movies together and had a decadent lifestyle which became the talk of the town.
