The main square of Pripyat is still there, and it is where the outcome of the disaster is felt the most. Back then, it was the location for Polissya Hotel. Currently, the place is laden with thick foliage of trees, shrubs and other untrimmed plantation that refuses to stop growing and no one really dares to take a constructive action at the earliest. It was an area where flowers were in full bloom at one point of time. Pripyat was known for having a population of close to 49,400 people. The average age of the population was 26, with most of them having been successfully completed their college programs.
