Children are the future of a country, and as far as Chernobyl is concerned, a fraction of the younger generation who got exposed to the radioactive elements have survived but are living with side effects. The rate of thyroid cancer is 10 times more than normal, and some scientists are of the opinion that these children might pass on the radiation to the next generation by the time they come of a certain age. We don’t know what plans they have regarding their insurance policies, but people living around the nuclear disaster zone have birthed and raised kids with birth defects, with a record of 6,000 children born every year with such medical issues. The genetics are to be blamed here.
