Did Jenny Die of HIV?
There have been numerous fan theories floating around on the internet about the cause of Jenny’s death. One claimed that Jenny, who was infected with HIV, might have passed on the virus to Forrest and her unborn child. But that’s not what happened as Jenny, in spite of being a wild girl all her life, had cleaned herself up. Though she did relapse, she didn’t contract AIDS until later, after she’d given birth when she took to needles during a moment of weakness. She might have succumbed to AIDS but Forrest and his son remained free of the virus.
