From Battleship Classics to High-Tech Terrors, These Warships Bring the Heat!

USS Mobile LCS-26

The USS Mobile (LCS-26) carries the name of its home city, Mobile, Alabama, and is the fifth ship to do so. What’s even cooler is that it was built right in its namesake city. Launched on January 11, 2020, and commissioned on May 22, 2021, this Independence-class littoral combat ship displaces 2,307 metric tons when light and 3,104 metric tons fully loaded, stretching 418 feet long.

It’s armed with a BAE Systems Mk 110 57 mm gun, four .50 cal guns, an Evolved SeaRAM missile system, and mission modules. The Mobile also carries two MH-60R/S Seahawks and an MQ-8 Fire Scout, so it’s always ready for action.
