USS Oakland LCS-24

The USS Oakland (LCS-24) is the third ship named after the city of Oakland, California, and it’s part of the Independence-class littoral combat ships in the U.S. Navy. Launched on July 21, 2019, and commissioned on April 17, 2021, this versatile vessel measures 418 feet in length and displaces 3,104 metric tons when fully loaded.

The Oakland is armed with a BAE Systems Mk 110 57 mm gun, four .50 cal guns, and an Evolved SeaRAM missile launcher, ensuring it’s ready for any coastal mission. It also carries two MH-60R/S Seahawks and an MQ-8 Fire Scout, making it a modern, multi-mission dynamo on the water.
