USS Tulsa LCS-16
The USS Tulsa (LCS-16) is the third ship named after Tulsa, Oklahoma’s second-largest city, and it proudly lives up to its motto: “Tough, Able, Ready.” As an Independence-class littoral combat ship, the Tulsa was launched on March 16, 2017, and commissioned on February 16, 2019.
It’s equipped with a BAE Systems Mk 110 57 mm gun, four .50 cal guns, and an Evolved SeaRAM 11-cell missile launcher. The ship also carries mission modules, two MH-60R/S Seahawks, and an MQ-8 Fire Scout drone. In all, this ship possesses the level of versatility and firepower needed for a wide range of sea-based missions.
