Halle Berry e David Justice si sono conosciuti nel 1992 grazie ad amici comuni e iniziarono a frequentarsi poco dopo. La loro relazione sembrava perfetta, tanto che si sposarono il 1° gennaio 1993. Justice, ex giocatore di baseball con tre selezioni All-Star e due titoli delle World Series, sembrava essere il partner ideale per l’attrice premiata con l’Oscar. Tuttavia, la loro unione iniziò a sgretolarsi già nel 1996, quando si separarono, e il divorzio fu ufficiale nel giugno 1997.
