Respecting Iceland’s Natural Wonders
Iceland has become a popular tourist destination, with over two million people visiting each year. While there are plenty of activities and sights to explore, it is important to remember that there are certain rules that must be respected. One of these rules applies to those who believe throwing coins into springs will grant their wishes.
Visitors to the Geysir geothermal area have been throwing coins into the geyser Blési for years, and ranger Lárus Kjartansson installed these prominent signs to stop the behavior. The signs aim to promote the fact that respect for nature is key to preserving the beauty of Iceland for generations to come.
