“The Land of Fire and Ice:” Exploring the Wonders of Iceland

Innovation and Tradition in Iceland

Iceland is a land of modern wonders that surprisingly lacks a public railway system. Although they do have a railway dedicated to transporting goods, it is not feasible to extend it for public use due to the small population and extreme weather. But that doesn’t hinder Iceland’s adventurous spirit.

On the Snaefellsnes peninsula, there is a road aptly named Sword Road that honors the Nordic settlers that arrived over a thousand years ago. This road leads to beautiful views and brings to mind the tales of the Vikings. Citizens of the country are therefore willing and happy to create new opportunities for exploration, opening a second door when one closes.
