Too Beautiful for McDonald’s?

It appears that McDonald’s was unable to compete with the tough terrains of Iceland, which is filled with volcanoes, hot springs, and fjords. This could be the reason why Icelanders remain content with their traditional dishes and have not seen a need to open any McDonald’s outlets on the island.

McDonald’s is an iconic fast-food brand with a presence in more than 100 countries and over 38,000 locations worldwide. However, the beloved chain is nowhere to be found in Iceland, with its last outlet having shut down in 2009. It’s clear that McDonald’s has been unable to establish itself in Iceland despite its worldwide popularity.
