They Might Be Hiring A New Proofreader
Former MLB pitcher Pat Venditte is no stranger to the spotlight – a switch pitcher capable of throwing with both hands. Yet it’s a recent blunder by a certain newspaper that has everyone laughing. While attempting to describe Venditte’s unique talent, the author mistakenly referred to him as an “amphibious pitcher.”
It’s easy to see how one could make this mistake, but it was still a hilarious oversight nonetheless. It’s just further proof that even the most knowledgeable experts can make mistakes, and that Pat Venditte certainly isn’t a creature of the sea. However, this was also a reminder for journalists to be extra careful with their responsibility.
