You might be unprepared for what comes next. The young antelope fled—or at least made an attempt to run away. He’s been held for so long that he struggled to walk correctly before taking off; thus it was inevitable that his attempt would fail. This means his attempt to save himself was a complete failure.
At this moment, there was nothing he could possibly do. Not even if he has a sneaking suspicion that danger was nearby. However, one may also wonder if the little one was tired because it hadn’t eaten. Unfortunately for him, it doesn’t seem like his host was ready to give him any food.
