Ganz besondere Herausforderungen des Wachstums
In ihrer Jugend mussten Abby und Brittany nicht nur typische Herausforderungen der Pubertät bewältigen, sondern auch ungewöhnliche gesundheitliche Probleme. Brittanys Wachstum stoppte frühzeitig, während Abby weiter wuchs, was ihr Gleichgewicht und die Mobilität beeinträchtigte. Die drohende Gefahr von Skoliose, einer seitlichen Wirbelsäulenverkrümmung, stellte ein ernstes Risiko dar.
Auf ärztlichen Rat hin entschieden sich die Eltern für eine Operation, um Abbys weiteres Wachstum zu stoppen und die Körperhaltung zu stabilisieren. Diese mutige Entscheidung verbesserte die Lebensqualität der Zwillinge deutlich. Nach der Operation konnten sie nicht nur besser laufen, sondern auch schneller und harmonischer viele alltägliche Bewegungen ausführen, was ihr Leben deutlich verbesserte.
