Ein Leben voller Bewegungsdrang und Mut
Das Leben der Hensel-Zwillinge ist seit ihrer frühen Kindheit ein wahrer Balanceakt und das ist wortwörtlich gemeint. Schon früh lernten sie, wie jede Bewegung synchronisiert werden muss, um den Alltag zu meistern. Als Abby durch ihr schnelleres Wachstum längere Beine bekam, musste sie bewusst flacher auftreten. Brittany hingegen übte sich darin, auf Zehenspitzen zu gehen, um mit ihrer Schwester Schritt zu halten.
Jede gemeinsame Bewegung, ob Laufen oder Tanzen, erforderte unermüdliche Übung und viel Geduld. Eine prägende Entscheidung in ihrer Kindheit war die Entfernung eines dritten Arms, der ihre Bewegungsfreiheit einschränkte. Dank dieser Operation und der Weitsicht ihrer Eltern konnten die beiden Schwestern ihren Bewegungsradius um einiges erweitern.
