Artists of all ages and levels of renown have once been obsessed with the night sky at some point or the other in their lives. The allure of the night is why paintings like Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night, Francisco Goya’s Witches’ Sabbath, and Camille Pissarro’s The Boulevard Montmartre at Night exist.
While Gesine Marwedel is hardly on the same level as those greats, she does possess sufficient skills as an artist to create such a moving snowy landscape on skin. Like Claude Monet, who painted “Magpie,” she too is a master of winter scenery.
