Invention of Syringes

Syringes may be a common sight in medicine today, but they weren’t always around. Believe it or not, the first medical syringe was only invented in 1844! Before that, medical treatments were, let’s just say, less precise. It’s a bit hard to imagine a world without these instruments, considering how heavily modern medicine relies on them.

It’s called trypanophobia—needle anxiety. Nonetheless, these sharp little tools are everywhere today, used for everything from vaccines to blood tests.
