Watamu is a small town located on the Indian Ocean Coast of Kenya. It lies on a small headland between Watamu Bay and the Blue Lagoon. The town’s main activities include tourism and fishing. The shoreline features white sandy beaches and is considered one of the best areas for snorkeling and diving in East Africa.
It is also considered one of the best places for angling, and it is common for anglers to catch diverse species of fish, such as broadbill swordfish, shortbill spearfish, and sailfish. Watamu has gained international recognition as a top destination for anglers, and hosts tournaments such as the ILTTA World Championships.
