Check Out These Breathtaking Spots That Won’t Leave You Empty-handed On Your Next Fishing Adventure

Iztapa, Guatemala

Iztapa is a small port town located on the Guatemala Pacific coast that is well known for sail fishing. The angling experience in this town is truly incredible; it is common for anglers to haul in 20 to 50 Pacific sailfish per day from December to April, and the fishing is generally good all year round.

The plentifulness of fish can be explained by the fact that ocean currents from El Salvador and Mexico mix here to create a small whirlpool called an eddy rich in the kinds of pelagic fish that sailfish and marlin eat. There are also other species in plenty, such as yellowfin tuna, dorado, and wahoo.
