The Demolition of Radioactive Structures

This particular memorial (pictured above) was built to remember the victims and those who tried to contain the disaster first-hand and died in the process. It is probably meant to be a reminder of their bravery as well as the sacrifice they made during that horrible tragedy. The Chernobyl Shelter Fund, on advice by the other organizations, was established in 1997 and aimed to bring down and demolish radioactive buildings in a safer process. The accident lawyers working for the cause believe that such a move would eventually save the inhabitants of the area around Chernobyl in the long run.
