USS Chinook PC-9
The USS Chinook (PC-9) is a standout among the U.S. Navy’s Cyclone-class patrol ships, tasked with protecting coastlines and ensuring maritime security. Launched on February 26, 1994, and commissioned on January 28, 1995, this agile vessel measures 174 feet in length and displaces 331 tons.
The Chinook is armed with six Stinger missiles, two Mk38 chain guns, two .50 caliber (12.7 mm) machine guns, and two Mk19 grenade launchers, making it well-equipped for coastal defense. It’s earned an impressive seven maritime awards since entering service, proving its effectiveness. This Cyclone-class ship was made for speed, firepower, and keeping the coastlines safe.
