USS Gerald R. Ford
The USS Gerald R. Ford was first deployed in October of 2022 and as of 2024, she is the world’s largest aircraft carrier, and the largest warship ever constructed. This colossal aircraft carrier may be one of the largest naval ships ever built, but it’s not just its size that’s impressive.
The Gerald R. Ford is packed with cutting-edge tech and boasts two A1B nuclear reactors, an electromagnetic aircraft launch system, anti-aircraft missiles, and a RIM-162 Evolved Sea Sparrow missile system. Stretching 1,106 feet and displacing 100,000 tons, it’s home to thousands of crew members. While massive, the Navy has much bigger vessels in the works!
