USS Kansas City LCS-22

The USS Kansas City (LCS-22) is an Independence-class littoral combat ship and the third Navy ship named after Missouri’s largest city. Launched on October 19, 2018, and commissioned on June 20, 2020, this sleek vessel measures 418 feet and displaces 3,104 metric tons when fully loaded.

It’s built for versatility and is armed with a BAE Systems Mk 110 57 mm gun, four .50 cal guns, and an Evolved SeaRAM missile launcher. It also features mission modules for different operational needs. In the air support department, the Kansas City carries two MH-60R/S Seahawks and an MQ-8 Fire Scout, making it a formidable and adaptable force in coastal defense.
