The USS Delaware (SSN-791) is a groundbreaking vessel—it’s the first U.S. ship ever to be commissioned underwater! This Virginia-class attack submarine was launched on December 14, 2018, and had its commissioning ceremony underwater on April 4, 2020, due to pandemic restrictions.
The Delaware measures 377 feet in length, 33 feet in width, and displaces 7,800 tons.
